How does GIF compression work?
The compressor rebuilds the GIF with an optimized color palette, fewer frames per second and optionally smaller dimensions. Lowering the quality slider reduces colors and frame rate for a much smaller file.
How do I get a GIF under 8 MB for Discord?
Drop the GIF, set quality to around 50 percent and convert. If it is still too big, lower the scale to 75 or 50 percent and try again. The size preview shows the result immediately.
